A large number of high-end construction machinery and equipment which represent the most advanced technology development level and can replace imports have been offline one after another, becoming brand-new business cards made in China. At the same time, the excellent enterprises in the industry take the "East and west" business, expand overseas business and enhance the ability of global service, providing equipment support for the infrastructure construction of the countries along the route.
Forty years of reform and opening-up, the country's most important thing has made brilliant achievements. In the new historical process of reform and opening-up, China's construction machinery industry should constantly break through the bottleneck of development, improve the quality of development, realize "three transformations" in independent innovation, and truly realize the dream of building a powerful country for construction machinery.
2. Reproduction of high-speed growth in construction machinery, "infrastructure repair board" to provide favorable policy drivers for the industry
From January to December 2018, China's urban fixed assets investment reached 63.5636 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.9% over the same period last year, of which infrastructure investment increased by 3.8% over the same period last year. From December 19 to 21, 2018, the Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing, and the shortcomings of infrastructure construction were adjusted again. On November 27, a strategic alliance for technological innovation in the high-end construction machinery and core parts industry, joined by 54 enterprises and research institutes, was formally established by Xugong Group and Zhejiang University, which became the first innovation platform for the core parts industry in China. The establishment of the alliance has laid the organizational foundation for industrial development, will better promote the upgrading and transformation of construction machinery industry, improve quality and efficiency, and occupy the global industrial technology commanding heights.
Looking at the global competition pattern of construction machinery industry, there is still a large space for development in key technology of high-end construction machinery and core parts such as hydraulic, transmission and control. To become a real world construction machinery manufacturing power, we must realize the real control of key technology and core parts.
5. Promoting the high-quality development of construction machinery and making new breakthroughs in the development of major domestic technical equipment
In 2018, a series of breakthroughs have been made in the development of major domestic technical equipment in construction machinery industry. On April 2, China's largest excavator, the hydraulic excavator with a total weight of 700 tons, was offline at Xugong Group. China became the fourth country with the development and production capacity of hydraulic excavators above 700 tons after Germany, Japan and the United States. On July 31, Shanhe Intelligence was listed in the "Pilot Demonstration Projects List of Intelligent Manufacturing 2018" of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which was adopted by the construction machinery industry in the field of Intelligent Manufacturing. The achievements are recognized by the state again. On September 29th, the largest domestic mud-water balance shield machine with diameter of 15.8m, jointly developed by China Railway Equipment and other units, Chunfeng, was offline in Zhengzhou, marking the high-end design and manufacture of Chinese shield machine.

The project "Key Technologies and Applications of Design and Manufacture of Special-shaped Full-Face Tunnel Tunnel Boring Machine" which China Railway Equipment led was awarded the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 2018. It marks that the core technology of special-shaped full-Face Tunnel Boring Machine in China has moved from following and running to leading.
Among the award-winning projects of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award in 2018 (jointly established by China Machinery Industry Federation and China Machinery Engineering Society), there are 27 projects in the construction machinery industry, including 1 prize project, 2 first prize project, 8 second prize project and 16 third prize project.
The project of "independent research and development and industrialization of large-scale offshore cutter-suction dredging equipment" jointly submitted by Shanghai Jiaotong University and six other units won the first prize; the project of "key technology and application of independent design and manufacture of TBM" jointly submitted by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. and four other units, and the project of "2000 tons of whole ground" submitted by Zhonglian Heavy Section Co., Ltd. The crane project won the first prize.
The innovation achievements of construction machinery industry are praised again at the national and industry levels, which indicates that the whole industry pays more attention to technological innovation, and the gold content of innovation achievements is getting higher and higher. As an important branch of equipment manufacturing industry, construction machinery industry is becoming an outstanding representative of many commended industries, providing strong scientific and technological support for national economic and social development, protection and improvement of people's livelihood.
7. Strengthen the awareness of environmental protection in an all-round way, and actively promote environmental protection upgrading in China's construction machinery industry
On August 19, 2018, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment promulgated the Technical Policy for Pollution Prevention and Control of Non-road Mobile Machinery, pointing out the technical standards upgraded by the "Fourth National Congress" and further promoting the implementation of the standards. In order to promote the smooth implementation of the Fourth National Congress, the China Engineering Machinery Industry Association organized a four-stage emission communication and exchange meeting for non-road mobile construction machinery in Beijing on July 10, and informed about the four-stage emission policy in the early stage. Participants discussed and exchanged the preparations and problems of the four-stage enterprises, and when to switch over the four-stage diesel engine. The consensus reached by the association was summarized and feedback was reported to the relevant departments of national environmental protection.
Faced with stricter governance and higher standards, China's construction machinery industry comprehensively strengthens environmental awareness and actively promotes environmental upgrade. On June 27, a symposium on water-borne paint application and welding dust control in construction machinery industry sponsored by China Engineering Machinery Industry Association was held in Kunshan. The meeting laid a solid foundation for the implementation of the Air Pollution Prevention Law and other related requirements, and embodied the social responsibility of the construction machinery industry.

In April 2018, China Construction Machinery Industry Association successfully held the 16th China Construction Machinery Development High-level Forum under the good situation of in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party, in-depth implementation of new development concepts, vigorous efforts to promote supply-side structural reform, and gradual upward track of industry development. Five group standards of construction machinery issued by the association were selected into the group standard application demonstration project of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2018. The five group standards, including reliability, pipeline layout specification, process standards, safety standards and product standards to fill gaps, are in line with the development direction of green environmental protection and the concept of green development advocated by the state.

In 2018, the high-altitude platform market continued to maintain a high growth momentum, with sales growth of more than 60%. With the rapid growth of the industry, the number of leasers has increased dramatically, and the construction machinery operating leasing market, which is dominated by high-altitude operating platform, has developed rapidly. The fleet size of the lessors is growing rapidly, but the majority of the small and medium fleet size lessors, equipment rental level and gross interest rate have declined.
In addition to many professional brands such as Gini, JLG, Olisheng, Dingli and Xingbang, Xugong, Sany Heavy Industries, Zhonglian Heavy Industries, Liugong and Lingong, which have the background of a comprehensive manufacturer of construction machinery, have also entered the market strongly, which has a certain impact on the existing brand competition pattern.
Construction machinery leasing can reduce the use cost of machinery, improve capital gains, stimulate investment and promote economic development for the society, but at the same time, it also lowers the threshold for users to obtain equipment. It can easily cause repeated investment while promoting the rapid expansion of the industry, which has an impact on the healthy competition of the market and is not conducive to the sustainable development of the industry. From November 27 to 30, 2018, the Shanghai BMW Construction Machinery Exhibition (bauma China 2018) was successfully held with the theme of "Wisdom Vision, Vertical and Cross View". The four-day grand event of Bauma China in 2018 was unprecedented, and the data set a new record: the exhibition area reached a new high, exceeding 330,000 square meters, 10% of the previous expansion. A total of 3,350 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions gathered, the number increased by 13%, and 212,500 professional audiences gathered, a substantial increase of 25%.
